collegiality

collegiality
A style of decision-making conducted on a genuinely collective basis. Usually applied to Cabinet government, it means that all ministers can have a chance to express their views prior to a decision being taken by which they can all abide. Collegiality enables ministers to act closely and cooperatively; they can resolve inevitable differences over policy issues by thorough discussion of all viewpoints. It is at the opposite end of the spectrum to prime ministerial government.
